Speech Pathologist

Kristi Rhoades

My name is Kristi Rhoades and I am a speech-language pathologist at Indian Meridian Elementary School. I obtained my Master’s Degree in 1995 and worked for 5 years in a medical setting working with adult and geriatric patients who suffered traumatic brain injuries, strokes, or other neurological disorders. In 2000, I started doing private contract speech therapy with Easter Seals working with children as well as adults. I began working in the Mid-Del Public Schools and remained there for 6 years. My family and I moved to Choctaw in 2006 and I was blessed to be hired at IME. The parents, students, and staff here are awesome! I truly enjoy my job and I find it so rewarding to help individuals improve their communication skills.

I grew up in Del City and graduated from Del City High School in 1986. I have been married to my wonderful husband Rusty for 18 years. We met in high school and have been together ever since. We have identical twin boys, Tyler and Trey who are 11 and a younger son Jakob who is 5. I even have a boy dog named Patches! I am definitely outnumbered by boys in my house. I wouldn’t have it any other way. We love to watch football and baseball, especially the Sooners. My boys play ball and we spend time going to their activities. We love to travel and try to plan fun summer vacations. I also love to cook and I am always trying out a new dinner recipe for the family.

I love life and I think laughter and humor are two things that help us all get through any obstacle we may encounter. I bring that theory to my classroom. So while we are working hard to achieve our goals…we are having fun, laughing, and smiling each day.
