Sharon Sanders

I graduated from Choctaw High School and believe Choctaw is a great place to live and raise a family.

I have been married for 27 years and have a great daughter.  She and her husband have given me the ultimate gift  . . . a grandson named Micah.

He is the light of my life.  I am an OSU fan, love to sing, collect miniatures, and my favorite hobby is going to garage sales!

I had an aunt that was a teacher in a one-room schoolhouse in an Amish community in Pennsylvania.  She was my inspiration!  I knew I wanted to be a teacher just like her.

I have been teaching since 1978. (28 years)  I first began my teaching career in the Oklahoma City School System.  I taught first grade at Shields Heights Elementary for two years.  Then I got married, and moved with my husband to Schweinfurt, Germany for a year.  I taught pre-school there.  Once we returned to the states, I got a job at Indian Meridian Elementary teaching first grade.  I’ve been here ever since.  I love teaching first grade. You can see such growth from week to week, and every day is a new day.  First grade is a challenging grade but is so rewarding.
