Welcome to IME’s website.  I am proud to be a part of the education and lives of the children at Indian Meridian Elementary.  I have worked in the Choctaw Nicoma Park School system since 2001. Previously I taught in Hugo, OK and Burbank, OK.  I have taught 5th, 6th, 3rd and 1st grade before becoming the assistant principal at IME in 2004.  I became the principal of IME in 2009.  I am a Great Expectations instructor in the summer where I get to empower other educators with new information.  I received my bachelor’s degree in elementary education and my master’s degree in school administration from the University of Central Oklahoma.  Our school is filled with bright, cheerful and inquisitive children, making my days very special. 

 Indian Meridian Elementary is fortunate to have a highly educated and dedicated staff.  The goal and primary focus for staff and students at IME is to develop lifetime learners.  We believe that all children should experience success and the staff at IME is committed to making that possible for every child.  We believe strongly in a climate of mutual respect and we strive to maintain that attitude at all times.  IME is a Great Expectation’s Model School and every teacher at Indian Meridian Elementary is committed to practicing those skills and principles.

 We welcome visits and would be happy to answer questions or share highlights from our classrooms.  We also enjoy having parents be a part of the school day and we welcome them to become actively involved.  Only by all everyone working together can we reach the greatest goals for our children.

I am Christine Floyd, Assistant Principal of Indian Meridian Elementary. I began my career in education in 1991 and I have been fortunate to be part of the lives of the students of Indian Meridian since 1995. I received my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Central State University in 1990 and my Masters Degree in Education from University of Central Oklahoma in 1993. I hold certifications in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Reading Specialist and Elementary Principal.  I have taught fifth grade, third grade, and first grade and remedial reading for grades kindergarten through high school.  The call to become an administrator was the same call that brought me into teaching… reaching students and helping them to become life-long learners.  In 2009, I was named Assistant Principal at Indian Meridian Elementary and continue to learn and grow.   I believe life experiences and our quest for knowledge molds us into who we are as adults.  Here at Indian Meridian my mission is to reach each student and instill that lifelong love of learning.     

 During this school year I hope that discovery leads to a world of knowledge and your child’s imagination soars to endless possibilities. By focusing on your child’s individual success we will ensure that they gain the maximum benefits during this school year.
