Welcome to JGI where
success is truly a journey, not a destination. JGI is
comprised of a student body of approximately 440 third, fourth
and fifth grade students. JGI has an incredibly high
standard of academic achievement. Our school's API score
ranks among the top in the district and state each year. Our school offers a variety of programs such as physical education, music, art instruction in individual classrooms, Spanish, Accelerated Reader, Math Facts in a Flash, First in Math, Math Club, Student Council, individual and classroom guidance, computer lab, PASSKey and a variety of special grade level activities to assist in the development of life long learners. JGI believes in the technology future of our students with each classroom housing surround sound, LCD projectors and SmartBoards. Recently, we acquired a portable lab of NEO2s. JGI is also connected with PowerSchool which provides parents with online access to student grades, attendance information, lunch balances, etc. Most of all JGI is comprised of an educational family of teachers and support staff who have a deep commitment to the academic, social and emotional success of each child. This is accomplished in part by each classroom philosophy centered around the 17 Practices of Great Expectations. Mrs. Stearns, our assistant principal, and I bring to JGI a combined 39 years of educational experience. It is an honor to lead JGI which is a school built upon a dynamic staff, incredible students and a dedicated, supportive and involved parent population.
