Veterans day flag folding

Our Veterans Day celebration was one of remembrance and honor.  The staff, students and parents of Westfall Elementary thank all of our military service men and women. The morning was a special one.  Thank you to our Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts for posting the colors for us, the CHS JrROTC for doing the flag folding ceremony, Mrs. Carter for singing the Star Spangled Banner, and the JrROTC for playing TAPS.  There was not a dry eye in the house. Our preK did an amazing job reciting the Preamble to the Constitution. Thank you to the staff of Westfall for helping to make this a day to remember and the many community partners for helping us honor the men and women of our armed forces.

Many of our veterans sent in pictures for our slideshow.  Here is a link if your would like to view the slideshow from the assembly.  Once you click the link, there is a drop down on the right side of your screen.  Click the drop down and click slideshow.

Sonic 1

Sonic, America’s Drive in, visited LW Westfall Elementary to surprise a well deserving teacher and kindergarten class.  Mrs. Olguin, kindergarten teacher at LW Westfall Elementary, has been submitting grants for educational equipment to the Sonic Limeades for Learning Program and the Donors Choose organization. Today her hard work paid off because she was awarded $403.00 to purchase the educational equipment for her classroom.  Thank you, Sonic for partnering with teachers.  You are helping support the needs of our teachers and school.  Sonic has donated over 3 million dollars to help teachers fill their classrooms with needed educational resources.  You can learn more at http://www.limeadesforlearning.com/pages/howItWorks?source=top
