Family and friends are the center of my life!
I am a graduate of
Mustang
High School
and the
University
of
Central Oklahoma.
I have taught second grade in the
Choctaw-Nicoma
Park
School
system for over thirty years. I now have the pleasure of
teaching children of former students.
My greatest joy is being the mother of my two
sons, Jonathan and Jarrod and the mother-in-law of Jennifer.
They are a gift!
My passion is
teaching.
There is no greater reward or
responsibility than being able to empower students to become
life long learners; to instill in every student that they can
achieve their dreams; that they will be loved and respected for
the unique person they are.
Next to my desk is this poem that guides my
teaching every day.
“A
good teacher teaches a child the three R’s---
Reading,
Writing, Arithmetic
A
better teacher teaches a child the three C’s as well—
Cooperation, Commitment, Compassion
But
the best teacher teaches a child the three S’s—
Self-Appreciation, Self Confidence,
Strength of Character
For if
you have the last three, you can love yourself.
And if
you love yourself, all you need is a gentle push
to
love others.”
