Dear Parent/Guardian:

It is time for our district to complete our annual Impact Aid Survey which identifies students whose parents or guardians either live or work on federal properties.

The federal government provides financial assistance to school districts that have students that are federally connected by parental employment or parents that reside on government land.  This survey is very important to our school district as we receive revenue for each child that is federally connected.  This money can be spent for books, classroom materials, equipment, etc.  To qualify for Impact Aide, a parent or guardian must be a member or the uniformed services, be employed by a qualifying federal employer, live or work on Indian land, military bases, low-rent housing properties or other federal properties.  This year we are asking parent/guardian to fill out civilian employment information for both guardians and district staff will determine whether or not their employer is eligible.

Please take time to review the survey.  We are asking that a survey form be completed for each student, even if you do not qualify.  If you have more than one child in your family, a survey form must be completed for each child attending school in our district.  Please return this form to your child’s school by November 21, 2008.  We appreciate your prompt attention in completing and returning this survey.

Choctaw H.S. National Honor Society Tutoring

CHS honor society students earn service points for membership by volunteering to tutor other high school students.  You can get a list of the students from your high school counselor or Ms. Dyer in room C-5.  After you get the list, you pick a student from the list who tutors in the subject area where you need help.  You then call the student at the phone number on the list and set up a tutoring time and place.
