Kelly Halbert introducing the current officers. All officers were present.
Angie Baker passed out the
treasurer’s report. Mot=
ion to
accept by David Drain and seconded by Mark Blevins.
Kelly discussed the 100 i=
nning
game and chili dinner on February 13. Varsity is at Norman North a=
nd JV
is at home, games start at 1:00 and chili dinner from 5:00-7:00.
Choctaw tournament on the=
31st
of March (Wed – Sat) Games start at 11:00 with four games a day, with
finals on Saturday. We have a=
new
grill and will need help cooking during the tournament.
Kelly discussed the Tulsa
Union/Jenks scrimmage and that we will probably take some JV players for ex=
tra
pitching.
Coach Craft discussed the=
100
inning game, donation letters and schedule. He expressed sending donation lett=
ers to
friends and neighbors as immediate family usually support all year. Money from donation letters usuall=
y goes
for new team bats.
Coach Craft discussed add=
itional
expenses this year:

New pitching machine for defensive drills
($2,00.00);

New pitching area from donations and school
($1,500) for turf, netting ,
Medicine balls and bands.
We absorbed the freshmen =
and the
extra expenses such as catchers gear, baseballs, etc.
He talked about trying to=
get the
school to clean up scoreboard and paint dugouts. Replacement of the scoreboard is n=
ot
feasible at this time.
We have around $7,500.00
-$8,000.00 in expenses not yet billed.
School purchased new set =
of
uniforms along with the new building.
We have not had new uniforms from the school in years.
He discussed summer fees
(American legion & prairie league) $500.00 not including tournaments.
We have 55 7th=
and 8th
grade players from Nicoma Park and Choctaw. We will have a 7th grade
team, 8th grade team, combination team, and two high school
teams.
We will have two JV teams=
(Blue
– older players and gold) and varsity team. There will be yo-yoing between the
teams. He doesn’t want =
the
boys sitting the bench. He ha=
s spoken
to the boys. We have three sc=
hool
coaches and three coaches (Hawk, Lantham & Polk) finishing up there
degrees. He is trying to work=
with
the coaches’ school schedules.
He is taking 18-20 player=
s for
the Jenks/Union scrimmage. We=
will
leave around 1:00 and stay the night.
He discussed a Texas team
contacting him about scrimmaging and we will scrimmage them the last of Mar=
ch
at Norman North.
Morning practice will con=
tinue
till warmer weather.
There are a lot of youth =
players
coming in and he is excited for the season.

Baseball banquet around the week of the 17th. Would like to have it at the Rose =

Left field fence needs to me mended. Need a fence mending day (5th=
of Feb). Half or more posts n=

be replaced.
Question was raised on th=
e status
of the indoor facility completion date.&nb=
sp;
Craft informed us that the original completion date of March 1s=
t
but due to the ground test coming back with a foundation problem, we have no
definite completion date. Once
foundation gets up everything else should go up quick.
Sherry suggested the purc=
hase of
chili/cheese machine, and splitting the cost with other organizations, cost=
is
about $700.00. Craft suggested
splitting the cost with softball if they want to go in on it. If not we agreed to purchase ourse=
lves.
Sherry discussed the pric=
e of
coke going up but she had not received a new price list yet.
Sherry asked Coach Craft =

baseball had been included in the drug testing. Coach Craft informed us that we ha=
ve not
yet.
