Coach Jamie Cook was killed Wednesday night,
July 23rd 2008 in a motorcycle accident
in Midwest City, Okla. He was 36.
Coach Cook was
at Choctaw/Nicoma Park for eleven years, where
he taught higher
level math and
coached the baseball team and football team.
He also coached the
junior high softball team.
He was a true inspiration to those he coached and taught.
He played two seasons at OSU (1995-96)
after transferring from the University of
Windsor. He appeared in 72 career games for
OSU and hit .276 with six home runs and
33 RBI. A native of Ontario, Canada,
Coach Cook helped OSU to a Big Eight
Conference championship and a berth in the
College World Series as a senior in 1996.
A first baseman, Coach Cook played in 39
games as a senior, starting 23 of those,
and
hit .290 with four homers and 22 RBIs.
He married Andrea
Stafford on June 16, 2007 in Jamaica. His
daughter Peyton Grace
was born 7 July 2008.
