Kindergarten Choctaw-Nicoma Park Schools will be offering Full-Day Kindergarten We are pleased to announce that full-day Kindergarten will begin in the Choctaw-Nicoma Park School District next school year. The decision to offer full-day Kindergarten beginning 2009-2010 was finalized at the February school board meeting.  This is the next step in the expansion of early childhood programs at Choctaw-Nicoma Park Schools.  Pre-K was added in 2003.  Grade reorganization and community support for bond issues to construct twenty new classrooms make it possible to provide a full-day Kindergarten program at all sites next year.  Full-day Kindergarten extends the time students have in a structured learning environment.  This allows teachers more time to work on reading, writing, and math skills to better prepare students for first grade. We at Choctaw-Nicoma Park Schools believe the educational foundation received at this age is crucial to academic success.
