November’s Golden Rule award winners were as follows: 3rd grade – Brianna Phillips, 4th grade – Joseph Waller, 5th grade – Jade Jarvis, and 6th grade – Wesley Smith. These students were nominated by their peers for treating others as they would like to be treated. Congratulations to these outstanding, caring students!
The month of December is filled with wonderful opportunities for our students to practice the Life Principle of service. Service and giving are our character words for the month of December. Students will engage in a myriad of activities focusing on service to others. One of the many activities will involve reading The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. Students will then create their own giving tree with ideas on how to serve others.
We have several opportunities this month for students to practice the Life Principle of service. We are currently collecting new toys to benefit children in our surrounding communities. We are also collecting socks and mittens for the Love Links organization. This group provides socks, mittens, scarves, hats, etc. to children who are homeless. Our students also have the opportunity to collect canned foods for the Choctaw Lion’s Club. All of these drives continue through December 12th. Thank you in advance for your generosity. It is an amazing experience to help others in need. Happy Holidays!
