Greetings Falcon Family,
We’re off to a great start this school year. I
want to say thank you to so many who have made this transition for
me and our new students a great experience. As the weather cools and
the season changes, we will be focusing on several things in our
guidance classes. Last week, we spent time getting to know each
other. This week, we will begin talking about a topic that has
recently been in the news and is often a concern for many students
and parents...bullying. Simply stated, it’s not welcomed here at
NPI, and over the next few weeks we will be discussing what bullying
looks and feels like. Our students will create a plan to stop
bullying and create an environment where all feel safe and welcomed.
Student Council nominations will be held soon, and primaries
will take place in the individual 5th grade
classrooms by Sept. 17. Fifth grade students who are
running for the offices of Student Council President,
Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer may create up to four
posters. These posters may be displayed from Sept. 20 –
24. Speeches will be given during Falcon Frenzy on
Sept. 24, and school-wide voting for these offices will take
place later that same day. Each class will then hold
elections for Student Council Classroom Representatives which
will be determined by Oct. 1. The first Student Council
meeting will take place on Thursday, October 14, at 8:45 a.m.
I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Labor Day weekend.
