The main objective of the Indian Parent Committee (IPC) is to strive to develop and implement programs and activities that assist Title VI-eligible Native American students in reaching their highest levels of academic achievement.
Members of the IPC consist of:
- Parents, family members, and guardians of Native American children
- Teachers or school counselors
- High school student members with a current ED 506 form on file with the district
- Tribal representatives on tribal lands located within 50 miles of the school district
Our discussion will include:
- Vote for officers for the 2025-2026 school year. The officers will be elected on an annual basis and serve one-year terms.

- Vice Chairperson - Katelyn Durant
- Secretary - Josh Durant
- Vote unanimously approved
- The annual review of the IPC By-laws - Distributed via email and at the meeting.
- Annual review of bylaws. Bylaws were emailed on 9-8-2025 and distributed on paper at this meeting for review. Revision suggestions were to be submitted by email to Sina Nay, snay@cnpschools.org by 9-21-2025. Revision suggestion made by Shannon Shay to change the following wording: SECTION 2 - REGULAR MEETINGS Regularly-scheduled business meetings will be held on the fourth Monday at the beginning of every quarter of the school year. To Read: SECTION 2 - REGULAR MEETINGS Regularly-scheduled business meetings will be held once a quarter during the school year. This will allow our IPC meetings to take place on the same evenings/days as other events. All in favor. - Services that are provided for students who qualify for Title VI services with a 506 form
- Reviewed JOM information. JOM information is also posted on the school district website.
- Concerns related to the educational needs of Native American students
- Tutoring services discussed for the high school, middle school and elementary. Currently MS and elementary coordinators are looking for tutors. High school and middle school students have access to Paper. This is an online tutoring program.

Chairperson Duties -
- Work with the school district program coordinators to attend quarterly IPC meetings.
- Lead the quarterly IPC meetings.
- Work with the school district program coordinators to implement quality services for Native American students.
- Sign an attestation of approval for the OIE Formula Title VI application in the spring semester.
Vice Chairperson Duties-
- Assume the duties of the chairperson if the chairperson cannot attend an IPC meeting.
- Attend the quarterly IPC meetings.
- Assist the school district program coordinators in reviewing the yearly needs assessment to stakeholders.
Secretary Duties -
- Attend the IPC meetings
- Keep the official meeting minutes at the IPC meetings.
- Assist with communications regarding activities and services for Native American students.

An Indian Parent Committee (IPC) is a required body under the U.S. Department of Education's Title VI Indian Education Program to Provide parental and community input on the development, operation, and evaluation of the Disrict's Title VI programs. Comprised primarily of parents and family members of Native American students, the IPC reviews the Title VI application, approves the use of funds, and helps ensure culturally relevant services for Native students.
