Department of Student Services

Welcome to Choctaw-Nicoma Park Schools. As we like to say, “You’re going to love it here, everyone does.” On behalf of our district, I want to express to you how excited we are to have you as a part of our Student Services family. Below you will find a few details about who I am, and where our Student Services Department can assist you.

I am a proud graduate of Choctaw High School and have spent my entire thirty-one year career in public education.  Twenty-three of those years have been spent in Choctaw-Nicoma Park.  It is incredibly special to serve in the district that initially sparked my love of education.  During my journey, I have taught third grade, fourth grade, fifth grade, and served as an elementary school counselor. For the past three years, I have held the position of Director of Student Services for Choctaw Nicoma Park Schools. 

My husband and I have two children, ages 32 and 19.  Our oldest and his wife have blessed us with our first granddaughter who is 14 months old and pure joy.  I love to read, bake, travel, and watch sports.  We love to cheer on the OBU Bison, OKC Thunder, OU Sooners, and OSU Cowboys.  We also have a large extended family and enjoy spending as much time with them as possible.  

Our Student Services Department works to identify and educate students with multiple needs.  Under the direction of Shelby Vaughn, Director of Student Services, we handle initial testing of students with suspected disabilities, and oversee the Special Education classes at each of our nine sites, ensuring that the teachers, students and parents have what is needed so that each student finds success. Choctaw-Nicoma Park truly has the finest professionals, who have passion for developing each student to his/her fullest potential. In addition, our department works with site counselors, SEARCH which is our gifted and talented program, Distance Virtual Learning for special needs students, English Language Learners, Homeless students, as well as overseeing all mandated state assessments.  We are a busy department who enjoys every minute we spend serving the students and families within the Choctaw Nicoma Park School district. 

The Student Services Department is here to assist you in any way possible. If you have a student who is new to Choctaw-Nicoma Park, please give us a call, and we can assist you in getting started with the enrollment process at your child’s school. We love to meet the students and families who are new to our district, so we can ensure proper placement for your child’s success.

Dr. Eleanor Goetzinger
CNP Schools Behavior Interventionist

Dr. Goetzinger serves every site in the Choctaw-Nicoma Park District. She works with students, staff and families to provide Functional Behavior Assessments, Behavior Intervention Plans, as well as counseling and counseling resources for our students and families.
