For our elementary families, following the completion of the redistricting process, the district will review enrollment and capacity numbers at each school site to determine how many in-district transfer slots, if any, are available. Once those numbers are finalized, available openings will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis in the order in which the intra-district transfer is completed in the OSDE Transfer Portal. Before any new out-of-district transfer requests are accepted, we will open the process first for in-district transfer requests so that all families residing within the Choctaw-Nicoma Park Schools boundary have an equal opportunity to apply. When these timelines are finalized, we will notify all parents at the same time via email with the date and time to begin submitting transfer requests via the transfer portal. This will ensure fairness and transparency in access to available openings.

All entries submitted prior to the aforementioned email notification will be denied based on capacity limits and must be re-entered after this communication has been emailed to parents.

As a reminder, principals will send home the yearly Intent to Return forms in next week’s student folders. 

Please return these forms by March 12, 2026 as it will allow us to account for our 2026-27 student population and plan for appropriate staffing.
